Eagulls ProfilePicture a stage clouded with mist, dark lighting and the riff pealing out from opening cut Heads Or Tail.
It sets the scene for a brooding 45 minutes, far removed from their debut 2014 album. They've stepped away from the frenetic punk sounds and landed in a darker environment, replacing fast riffs with slow-moving bass lines (see Psalms). Ullages wears its influences on its sleeve -- think The Smiths or Joy Division — but if there's a criticism it's the lack of diversity across the 11 tracks. Still, one wonders what Eagulls will do next.
