Album Review: Duncan Saige - I'm Saved

StarStarStar

"He briefly kisses Jeff Buckley's chords on the humble 'White Glove'."

The new nom-de-plume of Margaret River-based Stillwater Giant, Henry Clarke, Duncan Saige takes a chill-pill with his guitar and watches the sun go down with this debut solo four tracker.

Like that other West Australian snotty tearaway by day/winsome dreamer by night Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans), Clarke's keen sense of pop melody is summery and beach campfire friendly, especially on smoochy lead track I Notice You. He briefly kisses Jeff Buckley's chords on the humble White Glove after another swing at lite-indie pop for the title track. A delightful little getaway.
