The combination of two Brisbane duos, Chavprov and Number 1, Double Date is an hour of improvised, off-kilter comedy.
With no script and feeding off the small audience, it’s fraught with danger and ultimately fails to ever take off. Opening the evening, Number 1 weave disjointed storylines of a spin class, a lost child and an argument about a repossessed home into their routine before Chavprov take over with an extended scene revolving around the band Right Said Fred.
Double Date will leave you scratching your head. Not because it’s provocative or particularly intellectual, but because it’s more confusing than funny.
