Album Review: Dirty Loops - Loopified

"There’s little out there like this, but should there be?"

The debut record from Swedish jazz/funk pop-rockers Dirty Loops will certainly divide listeners.

Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder comparisons are inevitable and apt, actually to the group's credit. Funnily enough though, '90s video game soundtracks (think Sonic) might serve as the most suitable point of entry – these are huge, celebratory electro dance pop groovers. There is a certain passive dry sexism that permeates the record (most obviously on Sexy Girls), but if you feel the groove, you'll likely be able to look past it. There's little out there like this, but should there be?
