Touring soon, renowned jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater remembers Katrina with this tribute to the music that puts New Orleans on the music lovers’ map.

Ms. Bridgewater, who lives down in the Tremé, holds this music close to her heart, dealing out immaculate versions of classic cuts St James Infirmary and Whoopin’ Blues. Spinning classic jazz with the assistance of trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Bridgewater also pays homage to the legendary Satchmo. Dr John features on a cover of the seminal Professor Long Hair’s Big Chief, but there’s no Tipitina.
