Featuring members from other South Australian bands, Dead Bones are no strangers to creating and recording music, and you can tell with this release. The six-track EP is powerful with its driving guitars, but it doesn't seem right to place it under the 'rock' banner – vocalist Tim Bone's delivery is rough and gruelling, while the instrumental work sounds imposingly gargantuan. Same Old Story encapsulates that ideal with some extremely physical guitar riffs and striking harmonies, while Dust manages the same effect but with more intricate guitar and vocal work. This is a very enjoyable first effort.
