Craig Hill: Jock's Trap

Props also to ‘Mister Middle Class’ down the front, an audience member who took the final dance challenge up with such energy that Hill almost looked sedate.

Craig Hill took the stage on the first night of Chatswood's Cracker Night showcase with his characteristic dance intro. Keeping it (relatively) formal rather than the 'dancing up the isles' approach he's taken with past visits, he spent the next hour scouting out the crowd and just generally having a chat. Now a few festivals on, his work is familiar and fun, but could perhaps do with a little updating. His charming put downs of our accent is masterful, but we've also heard them now- something new please, darl. The add-ons that were worth it though were some excellent mini-serenades, as Hill took on pop divas with appropriate reverence and piss taking (Whitney was especially masterful- and no, not too soon!). Props also to 'Mister Middle Class' down the front, an audience member who took the final dance challenge up with such energy that Hill almost looked sedate.
