Comedy Hypnosis! Rewired

"You can understand why he suits the role of a hypnotist."

The very nature of hypnosis means that you can never be quite sure whether what you’re seeing is genuine or a charade. That’s certainly the case during Isaac Lomman’s Comedy Hypnosis! Rewired.

It’s a mad scramble when Lomman calls for 12 volunteers to join him on stage, and trust us, you’ll want to be one of them. The show is repetitive, as expected for hypnosis, and if you’re in the audience it does get a bit tedious. The comedy aspect is there, but when the hypnosis doesn’t quite work, it can feel more flawed than it actually appears to be.

For those on stage, Lomman does a fantastic job in keeping 12 strangers occupied, interested and in-check. On the odd occasion he would send volunteers back to their seat if the hypnosis wasn’t working on them.

The sound effects weren’t quite in-sync on the night and whilst the hypnosis did succeed for most of the self-volunteered, the show did lack a pivotal moment.

Lomman’s deep voice is soothing and once you’ve seen him, you can understand why he suits the role of a hypnotist. This would be a good show to take a friend, relative or perhaps even a date to and for you and the lucky other to participate in – if you’re going to do that, sit at the front!
