Live Review: Childish Gambino releases one of his best songs yet with 'Me And Your Mama'

In conjunction with the announcement that a new album is on the way, Childish Gambino has offered up a thought provoking new single with Me And Your Mama

Donald Glover, aka CHILDISH GAMBINO, has always, ALWAYS, pushed the boundaries of hip-hop, pop and beyond. From his slew of hit singles, mixtapes and thousands, even millions of fans across the world, he's made a name for himself as one of the most exciting artists in the hip-hop scene in the entire world right now, and he's set to reaffirm that reputation once more with his just announced album, Awaken, My Love!

Accompanying the announcement of the new album, set to be released next week, Gambino also released a brand new single. The first track off the record, 'Me And Your Mama' is an epic, three part track that sees Gambino delve into psychedelia, revel in the gripping thrills that love can bring and leave us with a whiplash feeling, thinking, "What the hell just happened?"

Starting off with slow, gospel vibes involving a passionate female choir, the track quickly deviates from the gentle start into an all out meltdown featuring blues, funk, psych and more. Gambino screams that his love is more than "puppy love," whilst the choir behind him reaches new heights in a raucous crescendo. Just when you think it's about to break through with how intense it gets, the track immediately subsides, and we're left feeling on the brink of the cliff with an at times cathartic meandering of an instrumental outro.

All in all, "Me And Your Mama" paints an exciting and unpredictable picture of what is to come from Childish Gambino.
