Despite her appearance on that brilliant Mt Royal EP, Katrina Ford remains with Celebration, who return with an album that’s a beguiling chimera of styles held together by Ford’s effortlessly dreamy vocals.
Drifting from the angular New Wave of Razor’s Edge to the ‘60s girl group vibes of Blood Is The Brine before hitting the country rock’n’roll of I Got Sol, Celebration’s reach is kaleidoscopic. Their collective pop sensibility puts a distinctive spin on everything and brings cohesion. Ridiculously flying well below the radar for the past ten years, fingers crossed this is their well-deserved breakout album.
