Album Review: Cairo Knife Fight - The Colossus

StarStarStarStar

"Excess fuzz and feminine vocals create a saturation of psychedelia as heavy riffs and mathematical drumming impresses"

This debut record is worth getting hyped about, especially as the dynamic wall of reverb-filled sound is generated by a two-piece band.

Excess fuzz and feminine vocals create a saturation of psychedelia as heavy riffs and mathematical drumming impresses for the duration of the disc’s ten varied songs. Cairo Knife Fight are definitely following in the footsteps, or perhaps just planting their own footsteps next to those of Royal Blood, Soundgarden and Swans, and are certainly one of the most exciting new bands around town.
