Live Review: Bruny Bash

If you've ever dreamed of a party with new and old friends in a vineyard on a stunning island, Bruny Bash was the place for you. Held at Bruny Island Premium Wines Vineyard, the setting was nothing short of perfect. Rolling hills, rows and rows of grapes as far as the eye could see, couches, beanbags and fire pots made the intimate setting feel that little bit more like home.

Bruny Bash truly felt like a party with your closest friends, even if you'd never met. The line-up consisted of home grown Tassie acts, hailing mainly from Hobart, with the exception of Joe Mungovan who flew down from NSW. There were some sweet acoustic sounds from Ruben Reeves and LASCA, both warming the crowd with their beautiful voices in the late afternoon before The Surreal Estate Agents took over and everyone forgot about the cool evening breeze and danced to keep warm. Jed Appleton then took to the stage and kept the crowd moving with his sweet sounds, featuring some old favourites and some fresh originals. Maddy Jane & The Janes then took to the stage with every bit of support from the audience. Everyone was singing and dancing, making the most of the soulful tunes in the vines. Last up were The White Rose Project whose alternative pop/rock sounds made sure everyone needed their own personal spot on the dancefloor to get funky.

The night went on and everyone was in high spirits, genuinely enjoying beautiful music on a beautiful island that wouldn't normally have as much attention. A few hundred friends and strangers came together to celebrate young, fresh and upcoming talents and had an amazing time doing so.

If there is ever a Bruny Bash 2.0 and it is within your means to get there, make sure you do because the next one will without a doubt be even better than the first.
