Album Review: Body/Head - No Waves

StarHalf Star

"The takes here are badly unfocused and feature a sound so raw and rickety..."

More Body/Head Body/Head

One for devoted fans only; No Waves is a live recording of Kim Gordon (ex-Sonic Youth) and Bill Nace at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennesse.

Deconstructing material from their first two releases, the aim might've been for something raw and unconventional, but the takes here are badly unfocused and feature a sound so raw and rickety, purchasers will probably be WTF-ed into running tests to check their speakers aren't damaged. After the success of Girl In A Band, perhaps Gordon should head back to the typewriter.
