Album Review: Bloodclot - Up In Arms

14 July 2017 | 4:26 pm | Mark Hebblewhite

"Bloodclot himself sounds refreshingly pissed at the world."

It seems that the never ending soap opera surrounding the Cro-Mags has been good for the creative instincts of all of the protagonists involved.

Last year Harley Flanagan released a visceral beast of an LP, and now John 'Bloodclot' Joseph has reciprocated with his most impressive effort in, well, decades. Up In Arms, which includes the talents of Todd Youth and Nick Oliveri is a searing street level attack where not a minute is wasted, and Bloodclot himself sounds refreshingly pissed at the world. Given this rash of great LPs, one only wonders what a reunited Cro-Mags could achieve together.
