Anyone looking for some experimental pop will find much to love about this Afro-beat revival psych-pop groover.
Having the word 'beat' in the band's name should be giveaway enough that this London trio are a percussive monster. The psyched-out indie-pop of their debut record is easily elevated above its peers because of this fact – rumbling tom-heavy drumming, shimmering wooden percussive sounds, swung beat handclaps and more keep the record from ever feeling stale. Still, anyone looking for some experimental pop will find much to love about this Afro-beat revival psych-pop groover.
