"The band’s softer moments make the heavy parts hit harder."

More Battle Beast More Battle Beast

On their first album, Battle Beast established a sound and image. On the second, they perfected it. Naturally, this makes their third a bit tricky.

Instead of repeating themselves, they’ve lifted the scorching ‘80s metal of albums one and two and thrown it into a synth-laden environment, most evident on electro-thrasher Touch In The Night. Some head-bangers probably won’t get it. That’s their loss. The band’s softer moments make the heavy parts hit harder, while Noora Louhimo and Anton Kabanen’s beauty-and-the-beast vocals keep the band grounded in what made them so special in the first place.
