"Nihilist Party Anthem got the crowd moving and excited, showing a different side to the band."
Opening with their hit song, Gradient, The Creases got the crowd flooding from the beer garden and under the stage to dance and watch the band. With charmingly awkward stage presence the band had the audience mesmerised with their music. Taking a moment to connect with the crowd they shared their future plans for the band and encouraged the audience to sing along.
Ball Park Music graced the stage at 10pm. The audience was ecstatic and, as the lights dimmed, the positivity and energy was felt throughout the crowd. By this point the venue was packed in and the audience was waiting for them to bound onto the stage. Opening with older track Literally Baby, the band got the audience to sing in unison. In good spirits the band gave a shout out to a girl for her birthday, even dedicating the track iFly to her.
The band had a confident stage presence, pausing to talk to the crowd even complimenting them on their outfits. They created a friendly and relaxed environment, taking the time to thank the audience several times - incorporating humour into their set. They took the time to explain that their hit song, Blushing, was written by their guitarist, congratulating him on the hit song. Even though the gig was for their new album Every Night The Same Dream, it did not stop the band from playing classic hits from previous albums. The audience evidently appreciated this with enthusiastic singing along and dancing to Everything Is Shit Except My Friendship With You, Trippin' The Light Fantastic and an acoustic solo version of It's Nice To Be Alive. They then mixed up the set by playing songs from their new album: Nihilist Party Anthem got the crowd moving and excited, showing a different side to the band and the versatility of their music.
The entire evening was successful, not only with the band's set but the environment was perfect and improved through lighting and the venue. The lights changed depending on the heaviness of songs, slowness of songs and assisted them to create their desired vibe for the night. They managed to keep the high energy throughout the entire night showing different sides to their music, including an intense instrumental piece, Pariah. They bounced off stage, only to come right back on and do an encore of three pieces, finally finishing on a high energy song All I Want Is You.
