"Baxter plays to his strengths and unashamedly opts for melody."

More Avalanche City More Avalanche City

Dave Baxter's first record under his Avalanche City moniker, 2011's Our New Life Above The Ground, was full of charming pop songs perfectly crafted for lovers, road trips and commercial TV soundtracks.

His second album takes the same approach. Working with Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, who mixed the record, Baxter plays to his strengths and unashamedly opts for melody and listener-friendly arrangements. There's enough diversity to keep the listener interested across the whole album, and with tracks like Keep Finding A Way and Inside Out there are some quality singles available too.
