"A charming, weird and enlightening romp chock full of hilarity."
Warning: not actually about ghosts. Not literally, anyway.
Shannon Lim and Vidya Rajan present a fresh show — comprising ruminations, sketches, anecdotes and a little dance break or two — that attempts to dismantle the typical "Asian-Australian" stories and tropes; some of which they do more successfully than others. Nonetheless, and despite a slow start and some shaky acting at times, Asian Ghost-ery Store is a charming, weird and enlightening romp chock full of hilarity. It's utterly entertaining the whole way through — and potentially educational. More warnings: nudity and lots of baby powder.
