Album Review: American Authors - Oh, What A Life

"While certainly formulaic at times, the record is a successful debut by any measure."

Oh, What A Life is the debut studio release from New York-based pop band American Authors. The record opens with popular track Believer, which introduces the album's heavy rhythms and tuneful melodies. The record's other standout track, Best Day Of My Life, is slower and softer and introduces a different pace to the album, but shares the opener's powerful catchiness. Slower again is the introduction of the record's closing title track, which displays a more earnest, softly-spoken side to the group. While certainly formulaic at times, the record is a successful debut by any measure.
