This may well be the key to album number seven being the return to grandeur that we all know Muse are capable of.

This ‘greatest hits’, of sorts, has plenty of excellent moments and showcases a really fine songwriter and indeed a name to watch in 2013.

The liner notes already hint at a follow-up release, and considering the excellent quality of this album we should expect another triumph.

A very successful EP for High Highs, who have appropriately taken some time off to present a sound that leaves this reviewer in anticipation for a new full-length.

Although it appears to pay homage to everything old fans love to criticise, it highlights the hits that made them a household name to begin with.

Same but different.

They might have some new faces, and they’ll almost certainly never make another Apocalypse Dudes, but it’s comforting to know that Turbonegro are still out their partying for our sins.

It comes off like a smudged carbon copy or a half-forgotten dream – somewhat familiar, yet disappointing due to lack of clarity.

It feels like so much more, particularly when they escape the heavy riffage of their past, create something new and transcend.

As a whole it has a dazed splendour, but its repetitiveness tarnishes the sheen these tracks have when taken out of context.
