Album Review: Actress - AZD

Not as stupefyingly revolutionary as his breakthrough R.I.P. album, but no less exciting, Darren Cunningham is still miles ahead of the would-be competition.

Conjuring more woozy, almost catatonic, grooves, the confoundingly hypnotic X22RME is a prime example of his sound and progress to date. But Cunningham continues to evolve in his own unique way, as the neon sensuality of Runner and the shimmering, understated beauty of There's An Angel In The Shower attest. AZD is yet another 100% future-proof record to his name.
