'Versions' is out in August
American singer-songwriter Zola Jesus is gearing up to release a new collection of music - this time it will feature a bunch of reworked originals and she's teamed up with an Aussie producer to do so.
The electro-pop artist created Versions with J.G. Thirlwell - who has previously worked with Nick Cave and Swans. She recently collaborated with the producer to arrange songs for a performance in NYC.
Of the album, Zola, real name Nika Roza Danilova, said this: “Versions is about the bone of the music; taking approximations from past records and turning them inside out. With all framework exposed, the songs are given a new medium in which to evolve and bloom into their own tiny worlds.”
The record is out Friday 23 August via Sacred Bones/Inertia.
