"And having heard the music, without giving anything away... it's powerful."
While we count down the hours until the impending release of Kanye West's new album, Jesus Is King, Zane Lowe believes the US rapper has "found some peace" following his exclusive interview with West.
Discussing his chat with West during an appearance on The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast ahead of the launch of his new New Music Daily show, the Apple Music Beats 1 host says speculation that West is rebranding himself as a Gospel artist may be accurate.
"As far as I'm aware right now, [West] is dedicated to God," Lowe told host Neil Griffiths.
"He is focused on spreading the Gospel and serving Jesus and serving the Lord. I think that comes out very clearly in the interview.
"I never for one second got a sense that it was for promotional value. Not for one second. And having heard the music, without giving anything away... it's powerful.

"I don't have to be a Christian or a born again Christian to appreciate music that's striving to spread that message. It's powerful music and it moves me. I love it. I wasn't born and raised in Nashville but I love some country artists, you know?
"I think he's definitely in a place where he is receiving power and trying to distribute it in an inspiring way."
