Your Guide To The 2017 QMAs Most Popular Group Nominees

Cub Sport

Brisbane indie-pop mainstays Cub Sport had a whirlwind 2016 off the back of their most recent LP, This Is Our Vice. After spending several months overseas and doing a victory lap at the end of last year, they’ll bring their tight live show to the QMAs ceremony late March.

Violent Soho

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say Violent Soho are the hardest-working band in the country. Their most recent and massive LP, Waco, took them around the globe and contains instant classic after instant classic. Sing-alongs for days.

Dune Rats

Another hard-working party-punk outfit, Dune Rats have found a nice balance between work and play, proven with the announcement of their own brand of beer shortly after their The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit album took out #1 on the ARIA chart.

The Veronicas

Acclaimed sibling pop-duo The Veronicas burst back onto the scene a few years ago to reclaim their pop-rock status with a self-titled third album. They’ve kept up the momentum since then while working on a fourth studio album. Single On Your Side dropped late last year, with its accompanying music video written and directed by Ruby Rose, who also starred in it.

The Amity Affliction

Aussie metalcore heroes The Amity Affliction had a turbulent time with awards last year after some controversy surrounding the ARIAs. That hasn’t slowed them down in any way, though, as they prepare to tour the chart-topping This Could Be Heartbreak in June.

Sheppard

Indie-pop gems Sheppard have taken over the world with mega-hit Geronimo, from their 2014 debut album, Bombs Away, and they’ll support Justin Bieber around the country as they pen a follow-up record. We Belong was released in November and is another exciting taste of what the follow-up will deliver.
