Welcome to the future.

The future of “live music” has arrived, with Aussie platform Gig VR unveiling its first-ever live-streamed gig.

Punters across the globe will be able to enjoy Bleeding Knees Club’s headline show at The Zoo in Brisbane on January 24 via 360° VR thanks to the company.

"We first started filming bands at The Zoo and one of our very first was Bleeding Knees Club, it's great to come full circle and launch the event series where we started,” Gig VR co-founder Phil Sheen said.

Also being filmed that night will be opening acts The Jensens, Whalehouse and Perve Endings.

Gig VR launched in 2017, filming the likes of DZ Deathrays, Toro Y Moi, You Am I, Genesis Owusu and more, before appearing in at BIGSOUND's BIGTECH this year.

Following its first live-streamed VR event in January, Gig VR has plans to expand internationally, setting up an office in Japan while working with European festivals to create content.
