Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O To Release Solo Album This September

'Crush Songs' will detail O's heartbreak

More Karen O Karen O Profile

Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O has announced she will release her debut solo effort this September.

Crush Songs will be out on Friday 5 September through Cult Records via Kobalt Label Services/Inertia and will chronicle the heartbreak the singer experienced in her late 20s.

“When I was 27 I crushed a lot,” O admitted.

“I wasn't sure I'd ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”

Fans can expect the album to follow the tone of her Academy Award nominated track The Moon Song, off the Her soundtrack.

Yeah Yeah Yeah's released their last album Mosquito in 2013.
