Hey, did you know Yahoo saved 'Community'?
Good news, Human Beings — Community's much prophesied and eagerly awaited sixth season is well and truly on the way, with series revivalists Yahoo releasing the first teaser online after having screened it at San Diego Comic-Con back in July.
There's no new footage in the trailer, as the new season hasn't even moved into production yet, but it's a nice little quick retrospective of the show's first five seasons nonetheless, including a really very funny (and kind of mean) jab at the much-maligned fourth year.
It's definitely worth the watch, and Yahoo's touches are definitely encouraging — "Ratings? Where we're going, we don't need ratings" is all the information you need — but it's also a little too self-congratulatory, maybe. We are all thankful that Yahoo saved Community, but it doesn't need to keep reminding us of that fact. It would be like if they kept putting promoted posts on Tumblr (oh hey cough) that said, "Don't forget, we own this now!"
Then again, can you really be too self-congratulatory when it comes to something like saving Community? Probably not.
