The AWME will look to give an aspiring artist a leg-up

Applications are now open for the new national Australasian Worldwide Music Expo [AWME] Scholarship Program.

The program will give applicants the opportunity to attend the AWME in Melbourne from Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 November. The scholarship is available for 24 artists and industry workers and it will give them the chance to network and make contacts in the business. Twelve of the scholarships will be offered to Indigenous artists.

Applicants can submit their entries through the AWME website, no later than 12pm on Thursday 20 September.

AWME has an impressive lineup of delegates at the 2012 event and is one of the Southern Hemisphere's premier roots music industry festival, conference and trade event.

It will also features artists such as Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Archie Roach's Into The Bloodstream, The Bamboos, The Abyssinians and more.
