Kaiit, Miiesha Join WOMADelaide 2021 Line-up After Sampa The Great Cancellation

Five weeks to go!

WOMADelaide has picked up some big names for its 2021 line-up after local favourite Sampa The Great pulled out of the event and cancelled her upcoming shows.

Pitjantjatjara/Torres Strait Islander artist Miiesha and PNG-born-Melbourne-based songwriter Kaiit will perform before Tash Sultana on Sunday 7 March, while hometown act Siberian Tiger will play on Monday 8 March.

“We are overjoyed to now have three incredibly talented artists – all in their early twenties, but who’ve already achieved so much - on the lineup for the Sunday night of the festival, each bringing their intensely personal stories and musical styles to the stage,” WOMADelaide Associate Director, Annette Tripodi, said.

The line-up change comes after WOMADelaide announced the 2021 festival will go ahead as four sunset concerts instead of its usual seven-stage showcase due to ongoing COVID restrictions.

Other acts confirmed to perform at the March events include Midnight Oil, The Teskey Brothers and Archie Roach.
