Ascendant Aussie troubadour William Crighton has a brand new album to share with the world — out today on ABC Music/Universal — and he's determined to do just that, at least as far as Australia is concerned, with a celebratory run of shows across the east coast this April and May.

Kicking off with an appearance at the Hunter Valley's Gum Ball on Saturday 23 April, Crighton will be flexing his debut self-titled album and other songs at Melbourne's Shebeen (27 April), Wagga Wagga's Birdhouse Bar (28 April), Newtown's Vanguard (29 April), Newcastle's Stag & Hunter (20 April), Lismore's Lady Lismore's Loft (5 May), Byron Bay's The Northern (6 May), and Lefty's Old Time Music Hall, in Brisbane, on Saturday 7 May. He'll be joined for all shows by an exceptional four-piece band along with alternating special guests, yet to be announced.

"I'm very happy to have my good mates and family playing with me on this tour," Crighton said in a statement. "The album was recorded with an energy that really grows when we play live.

"The band is Matt Sherrod, Luke Crighton, Julieanne Crighton, Christopher Dale and myself. We'll have a few very special guests a long the way as well."
