The ARIA midweek figures

Australian satirist Billy Birmingham has only ever missed out on the #1 spot just once out of nine The Twelfth Man cricket comedy albums and while his latest best-of double record The Very Best Of Richie (dedicated to the late Richie Benaud) is set to soar into the top three of the ARIA Albums Chart this week, it will have to compete with the pop mega-star that is Adele.

After blitzing charts around the world, going multi-platinum in just one week and breaking a 15-year US record, the UK singer's 25 has been going gangbusters and it won't surprise at all if it maintains the #1 spot which it easily clinched last week

Birmingham has topped the charts with every release excluding 2000's Bruce 2000 (which peaked at #5) so it will be very interesting to see if he can clinch his ninth #1 album.

Also debuting this week is the new soundtrack for the upcoming Molly Meldrum TV series, Molly, which is set to debut in the top 20, as is UK band The Vamps with Wake Up.

Over on the Singles Chart, newly-inducted ARIA hall-of-famer Tina Arena's powerful rendition of her track Chains, which she performed at last week's ceremony with The Veronicas and Jessica Mauboy, is set to debut in the top ten this week.

Also expect to hear new tunes from The X Factor contestants Jess & Matt with Nothing Matters and Charlotte Devaney's Flip It.
