Sydney hearts Elba
So when Hollywood star Idris Elba announced he'd be DJing at a Sydney club this week, the city obviously went into panic mode — Fucking Stringer Bell from The Wire. Fucking John Luther from Luther. Fucking Heimdall from Thor. The next fucking James Bond (Ok, maybe that's too soon, but he did recently say "no comment" when asked if he'd be the next actor to step into the iconic role so that's good enough for us).
Regardless, the Goodbar venue in Paddington was predictably PACKED out last night for the 44-year-old actor's debut set in Australia (who is currently taking a break from filming the new Thor film on the Gold Coast) and from all reports, he nailed it.
Elba made sure to remind everyone just where he would be in Sydney last night with a cheeky little tweet just hours before he was to hit the decks.
So nice of The Sydney opera house to throw fire works up for my set tonight at the Goodbar! That's love... Cheers. pic.twitter.com/I9z8JivvEt

The lines outside the venue were huge. So huge in fact, that some people missed out on getting in at all.

And when the man himself emerged, he was not afraid to have some fun with the raging room.
Elba was also kind enough to interact with a few of his devoted fans mid-show.
And finally, just to let the FOMO really sink in, here's a solid 60-second clip of his set.
