He's back after a three-year hiatus

It's been a while since we heard from singer-songwriter Whitley - and we weren't expecting to either considering he went on an indefinite hiatus back in 2010. But, he's back in a big way this year, with a slot on the Splendour In The Grass bill, and now some headlining shows and new music.

The musician, real name Lawrence Greenwood will release his third album Even The Stars Are A Mess on Friday 5 July. He's ready to unveil the first single too - My Heart Is Not A Machine is out on Monday 27 May.

Greenwood will play four gigs just before he makes his SITG appearance - you can catch him in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. He'll be joined by folk songstress Esther Holt.

Since it's been so long in between drinks, we're guessing these shows and his new material will be someting pretty special. Tickets go on sale Monday 27 May at 9am.
