Sunnyboys' frontman, Gotye and a Melbourne duo recording for first time in 14 years have something to offer for your cash this week.
Before we go any further, this crowdfunding column has become so popular that we have made a cool looking form for you to submit the details about your project to us quickly and easily! We wanted to kick off a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to get the form designed but apparently that is “taking the piss” so we just made one quietly. You can fill it out here or down the bottom of this page.
Name: Jeremy Oxley
Project: New EP
Current Status: 14 pledges. 11% ($1130) of $10,000 goal. 14 days remaining.
Companion, a five track EP, will be the second release from singer and songwriter Jeremy Oxley outside of the much-loved, recently reformed Aussie band which he fronts, Sunnyboys. A documentary film, The Sunnyboy, has been made about him and will screen later this year and its director Kaye Harrison has suggested Oxley release some new material to coincide with it. She's looking for fans to donate so that Oxley can own the recordings outright and earn money from every sale to help contribute to his wellbeing and ongoing recovery from schizophrenia.
There are only three incentives at the moment; a signed CD, a thank you on the back of the CD and a Sunnyboys pack full of merch and tickets and such. You can check them out here.

Name: Anne McCue
Project: New album, Even Cowgirls Play The Blues
Current Status: 137 pledges. 39% ($7771) of $20,000 goal. 29 days remaining.
Australian blues singer and guitarist Anne McCue wants to team up with the crew with whom she made her excellent Roll album with a few years back for album number six, and she's looking to fans to make sure the LP can eventuate.
There are some pretty cool rewards offered; for $2000 you can appear on the album, or for $400 Anne will perform on yours! A painting from McCue will cost you $200, a personalised version of a song is $300 or you can just get a couple of digital albums for $10!
Name: Louis & the Honkytonk
Project: Debut album
Current Status: 26 pledges, 40% ($1,211) of $3,000 goal. 20 days remaining.
Perth indie band Louis & the Honkytonk are releasing their first ever album soon on glorious 180 gram vinyl, but to make it even more special (and way more difficult for themselves) they are individually screen printing 100 album covers to make the LP stand out from the pack.
Being a developing act, their prices are very reasonable; a band can take the $150 recording package to get themselves a demo, a whole stack of records and merch can be bought for a mere $50 and $400 will get the band to your place to play a full set.
Name: SLAM
Project: Funding
Current Status: 374 pledges, 77% of goal. 30 days remaining.
We wrote about the SLAM crowdfunding campaign a few weeks ago, so this is just something of a little update as to how they are travelling. They are currently at 77 percent of their $30,000 target, though after speaking with a representative from the organisation during the week, it has become apparent that they asked for a very conservative amount of money and realistically need over double that to continue to operate comfortably.
Their second single, by none other than Gotye with Perfect Tripod (Tripod and Eddie Perfect), is all done and now available to be purchased through the PledgeMusic site, where you can still get a whole range of exciting perks to help you become a better musician/music industry dude or dudette and help the SLAM operation to continue.

Name: The Grapes
Project: New album
Current Status: 34 pledges, 24% of goal. 41 days remaining.
In 1997 Ashley Naylor and Sherry Rich joined forces to record a Gene Clark cover for a sampler for the Rubber Records label they were both signed to. It went well, apparently, because it wasn't long before they had decided they would make a whole record under the name of The Grapes, which they did in 1999.
Now, 14 years later, the duo look to make album number two Western Sun and are looking for a bit of cash so that they can have it out in the second half of this year. A bunch of CD packs are available with added extras (t-shirts, artwork, postcards), or you can have the duo rock up to your house to play a show for $%587 (within 100km of Melbourne) or $1,487 elsewhere around the country.
Let us know if you're crowdfunding; perhaps we'd like to showcase you!
