New TV Comedy About Muslim Punk Band Scores Australian Premiere Date

New TV show 'We Are Lady Parts' to premiere on Stan this month.

A new music comedy series about a Muslim punk band will premiere on Australian TV screens this month.

We Are Lady Parts -  written, created and directed by Nida Manzoor (Doctor WhoEnterprice, Hounslow Diaries) - will premiere on Stan on 21 May.

Check out the teaser below.

The six-part series "shows the highs and lows of a punk band – called Lady Parts – as seen through the eyes of Amina Hussain (Anjana Vasan) – a geeky microbiology PhD student, who’s on the lookout for love and romance".

We Are Lady Parts will also feature original and cover punk songs written and adapted by Manzoor and her siblings Shez Manzoor (who also scored the show), Sanya Manzoor and Benni Fregin.

All episodes will hit Stan at once on the same day as the UK release.
