More The Internet More The Internet

The mad minds at Vulture are at it again, following up their incredible sync-up of Miss Piggy singing Rihanna's Bitch Better Have My Money with a similarly brilliant — if slightly less so — alignment of Fetty Wap's lovesick anthem Trap Queen and footage from stalwart '90s NickToon Doug.

As the makers themselves point out, the show's hapless protagonist, the big-hearted, bigger-nosed Doug Funnie, is a perfect choice to 'perform' the track, his adolescent pining for good friend Patti Mayonnaise seemingly sufficient to get him branded as "TV's most lovesick teenager" for the purposes of Vulture's sixth 'Vulture Remix' clip. We always figured he was more of a rock'n'roll guy — he was an obsessive fan of The Beets, after all — but it turns out he's a dab hand at slinging soulful hip hop to boot.

Even if it does feel slightly less impactful than Miss Piggy's turn in the spotlight — and, let's face it, that's going to be a hard one to beat for a while — you do have to at least admire the technical skill that has gone into sourcing the footage for this one; where Miss Piggy's mouth movements essentially amount to "open" or "closed", here, there's an obvious extra layer of labour in terms of matching up the on-screen movement with its intended audio, and the meticulousness with which that side of the equation has been approached is simply commendable.

Enough words though. Video now. Suddenly feeling compelled to go and watch the entirety of Doug.
