Watch Local Artist Perform Lockouts Protest Song Outside Closed Sydney Venues

It's amazing and amazingly sad.

By now, everyone living in Sydney has a pretty clear-cut opinion of the city's lockout laws, but a new music video from local artist Adam Martin takes a whole new (and frankly tragic) angle on the debate.

In support of Keep Sydney Open, the Melbourne-based songwriter has recorded a live acoustic clip of himself performing his song, Over It, outside a number of once-buzzing Kings Cross hot spots over the weekend, such as Hugos Lounge, Soho, Backroom and Goldfish, to highlight just how quiet the district's nightlife now is.

"In memory of Sydney’s live music scene," Martin captioned the video on YouTube.

"You were once the talk of the town, now you’re a shadow of your former self."

The song is a protest not only against the city's lockout laws, but the impact the legislation has also had on live music as well.
