It's nice to have friends in high places

More Sleater-Kinney More Sleater-Kinney

Washington-bred rock legends Sleater-Kinney have returned to the spotlight with their first album in a decadeNo Cities To Love, and to celebrate their re-emergence into the public consciousness they've conscripted a cadre of famous (and cult-icon) friends to engage in the ancient art of karaoke for the title track's accompanying video clip.

Shot organically on the street, on webcams, smartphones and maybe even some real cameras, the clip features a line-up of comedians, musicians and other well-known faces that would make any average punter jealous, including veteran funnywoman Sarah Silverman, almost unrecognisable Soundwave drawcard Gerard Way, band member Carrie Brownstein's Portlandia co-star Fred Armisen, Dinosaur Jr mastermind J MascisBrooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy SambergThe Walking Dead dreamboat Norman Reedus and actress Evan Rachel Wood, among several others, as well as, naturally, Brownstein and fellow Sleater-Kinneyans Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss laying down some karaoke on their own tune.

Get among the star-studded clip below, and try not to lament how kind of shitty your friendship circle is by comparison.

No Cities To Love, the album, will be released internationally on CD, vinyl and digital formats, with a deluxe limited edition on white 180-gram vinyl will also be up for grabs. It drops Tuesday, 20 January, via Sub Pop.
