More Sleater-Kinney More Sleater-Kinney

Legendary US riot grrrl/indie-rock outfit Sleater-Kinney have officially announced their reunification, driving the message home by releasing a brand new song and unveiling details for a new album overnight.

Taking to Facebook in the late hours of last night (AEST), the veteran cult icons (featuring Portlandia creator and star Carrie Brownstein) confirmed what some circles of the internet had begun to suspect — that there would be new activity and a new album from the band — after their first new song in nine years, Bury Our Friends, was discovered on a 7" contained on a recent vinyl anthology release.

"Very proud and excited to announce that we're back!" the band wrote ebulliently on Facebook, providing the details of the new releases as well as unveiling a string of US tour dates, which are encouraging insofar as they potentially lead to further dates abroad.

The band has now made Bury Our Friends available online — get amongst the official clip below.

In the anthology release, the physical single was inscribed with the cryptic date '01.20.15', later confirmed to indicate a release date of January 20, 2015, for the new full-length — their first since 2005 — which is titled No Cities To Love. See the album's artwork and track listing below.
