The UK songstress stops in to lend a little vintage glamour to the good space train Orient-Express

Fans of Brit sci-fi institution Doctor Who would have noticed more than a few familiar faces getting about the passenger cars of the intergalactic train Orient-Express during this past weekend's romp, Mummy On The Orient-Express.

Perhaps the most show-stealing performance of the lot came not from Frank Skinner's savant-like engineer, nor the extra dressed up as Einstein, but rather UK singer-songwriter Foxes, who lent her dulcet tones to a scene-setting jazz-age, swing-centric rework of Queen's much-loved cut Don't Stop Me Now as Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor and companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) get the lay of the... er... carriages.

The BBC has since released a full music video-style, dialogue-free version of the cover, in which you can watch her do her thing sans interrutptions, intercut with highlights from the season to date. Even if you're not a fan of the show — or of Foxes — there's no denying the sophistication of the cover.

Doctor Who continues with ninth episode Flatline on ABC1 at 3.25am Sunday (repeated 7.40pm).
