Dan Cribb & The IsolatedVeteran alternative comedian and musician David Liebe Hart — probably best known as a notable repeat player among the parade of wonderfully uncomfortable performers to have appeared on batshit cult Adult Swim series Tim & Eric: Awesome Show, Great Job! — has a diverse history of stage and screen credits to his name.
Now, thanks to West Australian pop-punk outfit Dan Cribb & The Isolated, Hart can include "Australian music video star" on that list, after appearing in the band's video for new cut The Last Time, taken from almost-released debut full-length As We Drift Apart.
In the interests of full disclosure, we ought to let you know that Cribb — as well as being an undeniably charismatic frontman and swell guy, just sayin' — serves as the Editor of The Music's Perth edition but, even if he didn't, this video would deserve the minutes of your attention for which we're asking, because Hart is every bit as magically awkward jamming out to some left-coast Aussie punk as you could possibly hope for. Plus, it's just a super-catchy tune and ought to brighten your day a little bit. We're only trying to help.
Check out the bizarre — but pretty dang tremendous — collab below.
As We Drift Apart, by Dan Cribb & The Isolated, is released this coming Friday, 14 May, via Pee Records (pre-orders here). The band hit the road not long after in celebration of the new work - they'll play shows at home in Perth (Amplifier Bar, 23 May), and the far-off realms of Melbourne (Public Bar, 12 June) and Adelaide (Crown & Anchor, 13 June).
