WA's Circo Festival Postponed Until 2016

Another Perth festival bites the dust.

Perth music festival Circo has announced that it will be postponing this year's event in an effort to ensure it doesn't join the growing list of festivals that have folded in recent years.

The event organisers took to the event's Facebook page to make the announcement: "As the final parts of the lineup and stage setups were piecing together we were left looking at something that had shifted too far from what we wanted Circo to be and not at a standard we could happily label as ‘the best’".

"After witnessing the collapse of so many festivals, and not wanting to take this event to an early grave, we made the painfully difficult decision to postpone the 2015 event, and with wheels already in motion to make 2016 the event we have in our dreams and that you deserve."

The news comes after the axing of the Big Day Out and Future Music Festival in recent times, as well as the announcement that the Soundwave festival will no longer travel to WA due to poor ticket sales.

The statement went on to say that in the meantime they will host a series of events to showcase some of the biggest musical acts around right now, which will include a headline performance from DJ and Splendour act, Porter Robinson next month on Jul 18 at Metro City — click here for more details.
