Banjo blues man Karl S Williams has signed with Footstomp Records and will re-release a version of his debut album Heartwood later this year.

Williams joins the independent imprint of Warner Music Australia alongside a roster that already boasts Thelma Plum, Busby Marou and The Medics.

Heartwood was released by Williams himself in August of last year and the best cuts from that record will be re-recorded alongside a handful of new cuts for a release this August. It will be recorded in June with Mark Meyers and Yanto Browning, who between them have worked on Emma Louise and The Jungle Giants releases.

He will hit the road with new labelmates Busby Marou and is expected to visit the US later this year.

Williams is managed by Trent Gardiner of Strange Yonder (who also look after TSUN and The Ottomans) and booked by Mark Lackey and the Wildfire Agency.
