Our friends at The Triffid are gearing up for an extra special couple of weeks where they're launching their new Beer Garden Saturdays. In an attempt to give Meanjin/Brisbane residents an even better live music experience, The Triffid curators have selected bands, DJs, and artists that give you a taste of what's to come later in the evening. It's the perfect way to introduce yourself to underground artists living and performing in the Meanjin/Brisbane area and to get the party started a little earlier than usual. And the best part? They're all free!
Three dates have been announced, each with different themes attached. The first being 'Bunker', on the 20th of August, which will host some of the best up-and-coming DJs that Australia has to offer, including Aquapulse, Dentallplan and greer. This is the perfect opportunity to get down and dirty, and start your Saturday night on a high. If you're feeling like kicking on, Biscuit Factory will be continuing the party inside on the main stage with international heavyweights Eliminate, Infekt, and Oliverse from 9pm. On 27 August, the evening will kick off a little earlier at 2pm, with 'A Saturday In The Garden'. The line-up includes Bean Magazine, Naaki Soul and Ghost Mutt, who are bound to set a dreamy mood in the Saturday afternoon sun. Alex The Astronaut will also be on the bill later in the evening, playing the Brisbane show from her How To Grow A Sunflower Underwater tour which you can purchase tickets to here.
Finally, on Saturday 17 September, the beautifully curated 'Afternoon Delight' is set to prepare you for a busy evening ahead, with performances from Sonia Cougar (DJ), Square, Aquapulse (DJ), Dizzy Days and greer (DJ). Afternoon Delights has a perfect mix between DJs and bands showcasing a wide range of talent and something for everyone to enjoy. Inside on the main stage, The Beths (supported by Platonic Sex) will continue on the entertainment for the rest of the evening. Cop tickets to The Beths here.
