News Limited hand a troll the attention he desired.

News Limited publications today boast an "exclusive" that outs a notorious "internet troll" as the son of NZ drummer Michael Barker, one-half of Swamp Thing and having previously drummed with Split Enz and The John Butler Trio.

They claim Tristan Barker, who they describe as a "school leaver", is being investigated for "online stalking". They accuse him of "terrorising... vulnerable members of the community" through "internet portals Facebook and Twitter". The report quoted the 18-year-old Barker as telling them that he caused his online "havoc" while "high on Red Bull".

Having achieved infamy with a Nicki Minaj take-down post that went viral last year, News Ltd claim that the formerly Melbourne-based Barker has "frustrated" police who are "unable to interview him" because he is now "living in New Zealand with his star dad".

They allege Barker has crafted campaigns of harassment against such targets as pranksters-turned-boy band The Janoskians and ACA anchor Tracey Grimshaw. He is also accused of taunting Muslems and creating notorious online-baiting page Facebeef. The report points out that Barker's posts are "in stark contrast to the lyrics about love and peace originating from the Aussie roots band, John Butler Trio."

However Barker informed News Ltd that he "would consider himself an entertainer".

When approached for comment, Barker's father called his son's online activities "crap" and seemed concerned that there are more people reading Facebeef than regional newspapers.
