What are your thoughts on club music? Perhaps you’ve browsed through some of our content recently and been like, “I knew about that before they did!” or, “I love this stuff, I know some acts that sound just like this!” Well it’s time to voice that opinion online, as the Purple Sneakers family are looking for new sub-editors and contributors!
Being one of the country’s most prominent niche music blogs, our mission here at Purple Sneakers is to source and feature what we like to call “emerging club music” from across the globe, without being conventionally “dance” music specific.

Alongside the blog we also host a weekly radio program on Australian digital radio station FBi CLICK + present club shows, put on special events and play sets at festivals around the country as PURPLE SNEAKERS DJS. We're trusted for taste, and have been for the last ten years, so now we're looking for likeminded folks to join our team.
So who exactly are we looking for to fill the role of a Purple Sneakers sub-editor or contributor?
For the sub-editor role, the ideal candidate would be available to work one full day a week in our online content department. Here you will be writing, drafting and proof-reading articles. Although the position is unpaid; it’s extremely fun (you can trust us), and means that you’ll have endless opportunities of interviewing artists & industry heroes, receive media passes to gigs and festivals and be able to nab advanced album releases. All of this whilst operating the blog from behind the scenes, which in turn will see you build your own portfolio and gain the experience and contacts that are damn necessary to continue in the industry.
And if you can’t dedicate that kind of time, but still would like to flex your writing muscles, we’re also on the look out for contributors. If you think you could dedicate a couple of articles a week writing about the music you love, then this could be for you.
For those interested, email emma@purplesneakers.com.au with the subject reading, “Sub-editor Application” or “Contributor Application”. Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you’d suit the position, as well as attaching your CV and a few examples of your work.
We’re super nice people and get really excited when our family expands, so don’t be afraid to get on board!
