Voting For The 2024 Triple J Hottest 100 Is Now Open

Today marks the beginning of triple j Hottest 100 season, with voting now open and dates for the weekend unveiled.

On Friday, 24 January, from 12 pm local time, you’ll get to reminisce about some of your favourite songs from 20 years ago as Double J blasts the Hottest 100 of 2004. The following day, triple j will host the countdown of your favourite songs of this year with the Hottest 100 of 2024, live from 12 pm AEDT.

On Monday, 27 January, from 10 am local time, the fun continues as triple j plays the songs that missed the cut, spinning the Hottest 200 (200-101) of 2024.

Voting is now open – you can head to the triple j website or the triple j app to show your love for the music you enjoyed the most this year. Voting in the 2024 Hottest 100 closes on Monday, 20 January, at 5 pm AEDT. Here are the key dates you need to remember:

And if you’re worried about missing any of the action but want to keep up with the countdown, the beloved social media accounts, triple j Plays and Double J Plays, now exist on Bluesky. You’ll be able to find out which songs land where on the countdown – you can follow the accounts on the app.

The 2023 Hottest 100 countdown received 2.35 million votes, featured 35 Hottest 100 debuts, and five tracks that initially got their spins on triple j Unearthed.

With her win, Doja Cat became the first woman of colour and female rapper to get to #1 on the Hottest 100, while G Flip set a new record with seven entries in the top 100, Kylie Minogue returned with the longest gap between entries (29 years), and Hilltop Hoods solidified their record as having the most entries across countdowns (24 songs).

For this year’s countdown, triple j is teaming up with We Are Mobilise as its latest charity partner. The organisation exists to end homelessness, with triple j developing an innovative new approach to help tackle the problem.
