The partnership will see Virgin Music Australia and Biordi Music release a lot of new music in the coming months.

Virgin Music Label & Artist Services Australia has announced a new global distribution partnership with Western Sydney hip hop heavyweights Biordi Music.

The deal will see Virgin Music Australia and Biordi Music launch the highly anticipated debut album from R&B superstar Youngn Lipz (who last night won APRA Music Awards' Most Performed Hip Hop/Rap Work for Misunderstood), alongside other upcoming releases from Bally Boy, Pistol Pete & Enzo, DJ Discretion, NASA NOVA, Billymaree and more.

“The entire team at Virgin, both here and internationally are so excited about working together with Biordi Music,” Virgin Music Australia Managing Director Timothy Janes said.

“This partnership comes via our new A&R scout Nick Lupi, and what an immense first signing this is. Biordi Music has proven itself in a short period of time to be at the forefront of Australian contemporary music culture, and their ambitions quite rightly, are to reach a new global audience.”

Biordi Music Founder Lowkee added: “In this day and age, it’s important to quickly adapt to new technology and trends.

“It’s just as important to take full advantage of all the tools that exist now to push your music forward. As the Biordi Music operations and roster grows, the vision has also expanded.

“We have our eyes set on global dominance with a goal of showcasing the incredible and diverse talent Australia has to offer.”

Biordi Music was launched in 2019 by founder Lowkee and has since become a driven force behind Australia’s rapidly growing hip hop, R&B and rap scenes.

Following news in February that Virgin Music was making a return via Universal rebranding Caroline International, it was announced the iconic label had launched in Australia at the end of last month.

At the time, Janes said: “We are excited to form a new integral part of UMG’s new global distribution and services division.

“Our team in Australia has a genuine passion for partnering with and servicing the best and most innovative independent artists and labels from around the world. With the new team in place, we are energised for our biggest year yet, and I cannot wait for this new chapter to begin.”
