Villagers To Play Three Intimate Shows

And our own Courtney Barnett will support

More Villagers Villagers

Irish folk outfit Villagers have already been named on the Splendour In The Grass lineup, now they've announced a trio of gigs to go with the tour.

The band will visit NSW, VIC and WA for the intimate shows - a treat for fans who may have lucked out on SITG tix, which sold out yesterday. Local singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett has been named as the support act.

Villagers released their second album Awayland earlier this year, three years after their Mercury Award nominated debut Becoming A Jackal.

This is one of several Splendour sideshow announcements you can expect over the coming weeks, as we revealed yesterday. Darwin Deez and Of Monsters & Men shows have also been confirmed this morning.

Tickets are on sale now. Here are the dates:

Tuesday 30 July - Corner Hotel, Melbourne VIC
Thursday 1 August - Factory Theatre, Sydney NSW
Friday 2 August - Fly By Night, Fremantle WA
